I've been tormented with an idea recently that has brought me much sadness and grief. And it is this:
Innocent people cannot exist on earth as it is now.
I suppose what your interpretation of this is would be determined by what your idea of innocence is. I believe that we all know what true innocence is. True innocence to me is a spiritual thing. It comes from God, and it is so precious and rare. SO rare in fact that i believe it CAN'T exist in a world with sin. You see for me, i perceive innocence as an attribute to perfection. If a person is perfect, they are also innocent. With that logic, no one can possibly be perfect on this planet simply because of sin. (THANKS Adam and Eve. -_- )
The reason why this has upset me so recently is because all my life i have lived with the perception that innocence and perfection were separate and thus one can be innocent without being perfect. I've lived my whole life attempting to be fully innocent, but with no effort at being perfect. It is a wonder that God calls us to be like Jesus who literally IS perfect.
